Parents,

Please forgive my delay in communication.  I do want to give you an update that might allow you to move forward with your summer plans.

Remember, registration is open on our website.  Please register for, both, Deerbrooke Waters and ASA through our website if you haven't already done so.  This needs to be completed before the first swim meet.

1.  The practice schedule is forthcoming.  I had some difficulty in getting in touch with the new pool board chairman at Brooke Farm.  Additionally, their pool needed some repairs and they weren't sure when the pool would be ready.  The May schedule is as follows: (each week is Monday through Thursday in May) 4:30 - 5:00p.m. - six years and under practice, 5:00-5:45 - seven to 11 years old will practice, the 12 and up group will begin at 5:45p.m. The week of May 5th-8th, the team will do dry land conditioning, as the water will not have had a chance to warm up any.

2.  The swim suit fitting will be at Brooke Farm pool on May 9, from 4:30 until 6.  We are using the primo green swim suit, again, from Friends Unlimited Swim Shop.  There is a link to The Swim Shop on our website.  This will take you to The Swim Shop's website where you can use their fitting guide; which I found to be easy and accurate, to order the swim suit(s) online.

3.  We will be changing the afternoon/evening we have ribbons and games.  We wanted to allow more time between the swim meets and ribbons and games so the ribbons volunteer would not have such a short turn around time.  I will be contacting the Waterford pool board chairman to see if Fridays  would be too problematic with the neighborhood.

4.  We will only use the Waterford and Brooke Farm pools for practice this year.  I am also awaiting a response as to whether or not we can use the Brooke Farm pool on Tuesday mornings (once school is out) so the kids could practice with the stanchions and flags before every meet.  The first three weeks of May practice will only be at Brooke Farm.

5.  Our first swim meet is on May 27th at Deefield-Spalding Lake.  The next three meets will be home meets.  Our last meet will be on June 27th at the Huntley Hills pool.
