Huntley Hills Volunteers Needed
Hello Parents (those attending this week's meet),
Thanks for your help thus far this season - we can't run meets w/out parent volunteers! We have 33 families attending and 19 of those families are signed up to help - thank you! For our last away meet we will need a little add'l help. Here is what we need, please respond if you can help. Please read even if you are signed up to help.
1. Volunteer Sign-in at Meet - I will not be there until close to 5:30. I need someone who is willing to sign-in volunteers in my absence. I'll give you everything you need and it's easy, esp. since it is an away meet.
2. Master Recorder - need one for first session.
3. Bullpen - no one is signed up. If you are willing to help please let me know, even if you are signed up for something else bc we can easily replace runners, timers, etc.. We have extra timer recorders anyway bc we should only be asked to time two lanes. You don't have to know all the kids (none of us parents do) and the team is small enough that it's not too difficult to figure out. The hard part is finding that one missing kid - could be at the concession stand, in the bathroom, off playing somewhere, or even sitting there quietly reading a book and miss their name/event being called. It is mainly the younger kids we need to corral when it's time. The older kids should know where to be and when and be paying attention to the meet schedule. Parents - please be aware of where your kids are at all times during the meet, esp. the younger ones, and help make it easier for the bullpen parent to find them when needed. They should not leave the bullpen area w/out telling a parent (their parent or the bullpen parent).
3. Deck Manager - If someone is willing to be DM first session I will help w/bullpen but I will be getting there just in time for the start of the meet. Bullpen parent needs to get kids lined up before the meet starts. So I really need someone to cover for both of these positions until I get there and someone willing to help for the remainder of the meet.
4. Meet Program Discrepancies - If there is a discrepancy between the meet program and the lane/heat assignments on a swimmer's arm, the meet program typically takes precedence. Sometimes the numbers written on arms/legs are done Tue. morning and the lineup changes before that evening. If you are working bullpen or deck manager and see any discrepancies, check w/Maddie or Tracey. Swimmers should always swim in the race/heat/lane the DM or a coach tells them to, regardless of what is written on their body or what a parent tells them. Tracey is good about letting the coach and DM know about these situations or if there is a change to the meet program after it has printed. That's why swimmers should check w/those working the meet if there is any question.
Thank you,
Amanda
