DBW Swim Team - That's a wrap on 2021 | Looking ahead to 2022
Hello Bullfrog Family,
Wow, what a great season and celebration! Thanks for another summer of wonderful swim team memories! I hope you will all be back next year, and bring a new friend or neighbor!
Support our Bullfrogs! I have included below the Eventbrite link for Brendan Abernathy’s performance at Eddie’s Attic on June 30. It would be so awesome for our Bullfrogs to help sell out the house to see this former Bullfrog and talented young musician perform. Tickets are only $10! Brendan is Detra’s son – Detra is a BF resident, Swim Team Mom Emeritus, and a huge advocate for our team.

Need more swimming in your life? We recommend a great swim program not too far away at the Fowler YMCA in Peachtree Corners. Many Bullfrogs, including most of our current coaching staff, have swum with the Fowler Fins. This a nice alternative to the more competitive swim programs like Dynamo and Swim Atlanta – much more convenient and affordable! Season starts in August (new swimmers to the team will need an assessment), web site link below. The Contact US page gives basic info (email, phone number). The info sheet is outdated but I think they still follow the basic schedule and offer all levels from Novice to USA Swimming competitive. https://www.teamunify.com/Home.jsp?_tabid_=0&team=ymca-1372
How can I help? Many have asked what needs to be done for swim team and I so appreciate the offers to help, and especially those who were able to jump in and help this year – no way it could have happened without all of you. I am working on a comprehensive list of swim team jobs and hope to post it to the web site soon. In the meantime, here are a few jobs I could use help with in the off season and to ensure a great start for 2022. Please reach out if you are able to help with any of these (see listing below signature line).
We shared so many fun and fabulous moments in 2021. It was GREAT to be back in full swing after the pandemic. Next year will be even better. Thanks again for an AWESOME Bullfrog season!!!

Open Positions for 2022:
Treasurer – self explanatory. I can share the “books” with you and we can meet at Chase to get your name added to the account.
Equipment Manager – Check and coordinate maintenance of swim team pool equipment – start blocks, lane lines, lane line reel (currently missing 2 casters and the other 2 need replacing), flag pole holders.
Registration Coordinator – Most work done pre-season and beginning of season.
Communications/Web Site – Would be great to have another parent who is familiar with the web site admin and can help with sending email updates to the team, posting links, adding meets, updating practice schedule, etc.
Swim Team Closet Cleanup – This should be done after each season. We call it the swim team closet but it belongs to the HOA and they store many things in there as well. We started the season with a neatly organized space and now… not so much. If cleanup and organization is your thing, this is where you can help!
PR/Media Manager – Not sure what to call this position but would love to have a place to share all our pictures from the season, not just amongst ourselves but a link we could share with other prospective members so they can see how fun it is! We currently have a link on the web site but I think it’s outdated and probably only accessible to team members. I know Detra would love to share a link with the BF HOA to help recruit more members from our host neighborhood.
