DBW Bullfrogs | Season Update and Registration

    Hi All,

Amidst all of this COVID 19 craziness, we wanted to send an update regarding our swim season. The ASA released an update today (see below my signature for detailed announcement). In response, Amanda and I have spoken and are taking steps necessary to prepare for the following potential scenarios:

    a) season as usual
    b) delayed and/or truncated season
    c) independent Bullfrog Session with team-only practices/competitions. (Only if the season is cancelled and it is safe to hold practice/team events).

Of course, our highest priority is the health and safety of our swimmers and Bullfrog families. As such, in addition to ASA we are complying with the CDC regulations and Homeowner's Associations.

Amongst all of the change and missed events for our kids (and all of us), our second priority is to bring our team together if at all possible. We will do everything in our power to ensure our kids do not also miss the great Bullfrog Summer FUN!

In the meantime, don't wait to register. REGISTRATION is open.

Please complete to help us get a sense of our team size and age groups. For now it is best for you to select "pay by check" instead of credit card. Please hold off on making any payment until further notice. Please feel free to share this email/link to any families who are interested in joining our team.

And, I've saved the best news for last. This season I am very very happy to announce our Head Coach will be JANE HENSLEY! Jane has been an assistant coach for several years and a Bullfrog since age 4. I know she will lead the team to great heights this season and can't wait to see her in action. Congratulations Jane!

As always, call or text me with any questions @ 770-312-4826.

    Ribbbbeettt,

    Katie & Amanda

P.S. The season calendar should come out April 7th. If season is as usual, you can plan we will have the same practice schedule as last year. Meets are May 26, June 2, 9, 26, 29.

    ASA ANNOUCEMENT

Will There Be a Swim Season YES, our plan is to have a swim season, we have a decent amount of time to work with before we have to make any decisions regarding the season. If the trajectory of the virus plays out in the US as it has in countries that were exposed earlier in the year, we should hopefully be coming out of the woods in time to have a season. That season may be delayed in starting and finishing. It may require a changed format for the championship meet if we can have one. We are keeping all options on the table and will keep you informed of any news as it develops. I feel strongly, as I hope you all do, that a modified or even shortened season is better than no season. More importantly, our sport will be a welcome opportunity for everyone to re-engage in their lives with their communities and neighbors. What better event than a swim meet to get everyone back together. Registration and Fees I know that many families are hesitant to sign up in these uncertain times. Please remember, if we do not have a season, we will refund all registration fees, minus any transactional fees paid to the registration provider. Those transaction fees would likely be a couple of dollars at most. I know that this was not the case with many spring sports, as many of those programs had already spent a great deal of money they could not recoup for their seasons. Please continue to register your swimmers as you would normally. It is looking more and more likely that we will extend the late registration fee cutoff past the current April 15 deadline, we will keep you posted on that as the deadline approaches. We will likely extend that deadline into May to avoid penalizing families if our season is still in doubt. Schedules and Rules Change Update I still am targeting completing a swim schedule by April 7.
